The Cross In The Theology -1

biblesu2.blogspot.com  The Arabic Translation by the author
The schools of the Liturgical Theology ( 8*R. Cud .Worth, " The True Nation of The Lord's Supper", 1942.) gave the Cross several symbolic meanings ,including their principles as an integral part of their worships , but The Evangelical Church rejected it ,  according to the faith which we had accepted from the Holy Bible, The scripture speaks about the Cross using another conception .
The Cross as a material substance was a tool or a means of killing ,execution, and torture ( John 19 ). The traditional point  of view about the Cross, evaluated it as a shameful tool for death ( Galatians 3:13 ) , It was a heavy material to carry ( Matthew 27:32 ,Mark 15:21, Luke 23:26 )  .
What is important in the Cross is , the significant work of redemption , which Jesus Christ has made through it with his blood ( Hebrews 12:2 , Colossians 1:20) , so we obtained the reconciliation (Ephesians2:14 ) ,so we obtained the redemption according to the death of the Christ on the Cross (Hebrews 12:2) the glory was not the glory of the substance of the wooden cross, but the glory of the power of the resurrection, and the triumphant victory over the death of Christ ,and creating the salvation of the mankind who believe in him , so he proved the Power of God (I Corinthians 1:18 ) so he became the subject of pride ( Galatians 6:14 )and The Testimony ( I Corinthians 1:17) , this testimony were a new covenant  , the covenant which was made by God due to His grace and sacrifice , through the abdication and the obedience of the Christ  ( Philipians 2:8) , the Cross has a particular significance not only in the terms of its form or shape , but through the historical work that has been done by it , But as we may not honor the air and the soil or the food and the drink because Jesus Christ had been used them , so the Cross we may not sanctify it as a substance .
Christ had taught us to adhere the cross and carry it, we observe in the written evidences in Matthew 10:38,16:24,Mark8:34,10:21,Luke9:27) in these verses Christ said  "Whoever wants to come after me must deny himself and take up his cross", He was not intended of course the substance of the Cross but He was merely referring to the spiritual humility ( Philippians 2:8)  and the probability ( Philippians 2:8 , Hebrews12:2) as an expression of intensity , The Cross is an evidence of the involuntariness and as an expression of sacrificial love that has manifested itself in  his death instead of us , not  by carrying an artificial cross .
When we read the words of Calvin ( 9*J.Calvin " The Institutes of Christian Religion " translated by J. Allen , pub., Board of Christian Education of The Presbyterian Church in the U.S. Vol II ,III ,IV ,2 ) in brief he told us that the Lord Jesus Christ was not in need for the Cross to highlight it, due to its substance , but to prove his obedience to His Father, because there are many reasons that make it important for us, because it refers to the continuous process of the humbling , as he said in Galatians 6:14 "Crucified world to me and I to the world " or as he said in Galatians 2:20 " with Christ Crucified is no longer I , but Christ lives in me " , so  Charles Hodge ( 10*Ch . Hodge ,"The Systematic Theology " The Arabic Translated Version, page 1025) " While he was telling us about the ten commandments in his commentary on the second commandment , "God is a spirit in nature , so we can not identify him  by other things which was made by the hands of men or by their thoughts , but we must worship him by our spirits , in a spiritual worship that is worthy to him, not by a material designation of the human inventions " .
